1) Langtang National
Park (11- 16 days)
Langtang is the first Himalayan National Park designated
in 1970A.D. Langtang is in the north of Katmandu, the
capital city of Nepal. The national park is allowing
the local people to live their lives within the park
and therefore a unique harmony between humans and nature
can be seen in this zone. The forest has diverse flora
fauna, wild animals and birds together with more than
40 villages, scenic lakes, glaciers and imposing Himalayan
peaks. On the trek you can explore the views of mountains
like Himal Chuli (7864 m), Manaslu (8156m) and others.
The Langtang valley is also renowned for the famous
lake Gosaikunda; the forest in Langtang National park
is a prime example of temperate and sub-alpine vegetation's.
The dense oak & pine forests on the trail up the
langtang valley area is of particular interest for everyone.
The rhododendrons form a spectacular display during
spring; wildlife in the area is dominated by main bird
species with migratory birds using the Gosanikunda Area
as a temporary sanctuary. Deer & monkeys in the
lower forest and Thar and Pica on the alpine hillside
can be found.

2) Makalu-Barun National Park (14 days – 21 days)
Makalu- Barun national park has one
of the richest Bio-diversity among all the conserved
areas in Nepal. It is located in eastern Nepal. The
area covers the bio-diversity of plants and animals,
which has been the attraction to tourists over the years.
Red Panda, snow leopard, Himalayan black beer and gray
leopard are some of the attractions of the park. One
of the main attractions is the unbeatable display of
rhododendrons on the Milke Danda ridge, thought to be
one of the best anywhere. Everywhere in the region can
be found magnificent examples of Himalayan orchids and
other wildflowers including many valuable medicinal
plants. Similarly animals can be elusive throughout
the area but bird’s life is prolific while deer
and wild sheep often spotted. Recently, increased sightings
of snow leopard have been reported in the mountainous

3) Manasalu Conservation
Area (21 days – 14 days)
Manaslu Conservation Area is located
in the Gorkha district to the west of Katmandu. This
is a popular trekking area as the Manasalu- the 8th
highest peak in the world, is located here. Since the
treks in the Manasalu region originates at around 1000m
and reach as high as 5200m at Larkya Pass the trekkers
will see a wide range of flora typical of the middle
hills and alpine region of Nepal. Particularly noticeable
around Manasalu are the fine stands of Pine and as usual,
the rhododendron, which is notable on the slopes below
3500m.similarly the area is home to 29 species of mammals,
including the rare snow leopard, musk deer, and the
Himalayan Tahr. There are also over 20 species of birds
and 4 species of reptiles. The area offers a unique
setting for trekkers as they have the opportunity to
experience both nature and culture.
4) Shey-Phoksundo
National Park (23 days)
Shey-Phoksundo is the largest National Park and one
of the few protected areas in the Trans- Himalayan region.
It has been successful in preserving the unique trans-
Himalayan ecosystem, enriched with diversity of flora
and fauna. The national park covers second largest lake-
the Phoksundo. The flora of park includes pine. Walnut,
willow, oak, poplar and cypress, pine spruce, juniper,
wild rose are the attractions of the area. The park
is home to six species of reptiles, 21 species of butterfly
including the highest-flying butterfly, Paralasa Nepalaica
in the world & snow leopard, grey wolf and blue
sheep. The area is a village of monasteries among them;
shey- monastery is the most famous one. Thashung Gompa
is another monastery located near the lakeside that
was built about 900 years ago.
