If you want to trek, it offers probably
the best walking in the world. There are many virgin
tracks distant and exquisite. These treks are Mt Everest,
Annapurna, Kanchanjunga, Gosainkunda, Helambu, langtang,
Jumla, rara, Mustang, Dolpa, Manaslu, Mt Dhaulagiri
& Arun valley, and there are many small treks around
Katmandu and Pokhara valley for day excursion as well.
Geographically, Nepal is land-locked and is sandwiched
between China and India. The geographical setting of
Nepal ranges from round the clock snow capped mountains
to forested as well as naked hills and plain fertile
low land adjoining India. It is the only place in the
world where you can find the roof of the world and the
deepest George i.e. the George of Kaligandaki River.
If we travel down 100 Kilometers diagonally, we find
almost a sea-level altitude plain. That is why Nepal
accommodates a rich bio-diversity in a comparatively
smaller geographical space. Nepal is mostly covered
with mountain ranges and it has attracted people like
mountaineers, trekkers, naturalists, explorers, scientists,
pilgrims, ascetics and cultural tourists from far and
wide.
Due to this diversity of cultures and attractions of
nature, BBC travel study on 2002 showed Nepal as the
most sought destination in the whole world. The extreme
group which organizes a lavish, adventurous and a well-rewarded
sports in different parts of the world has chosen the
Mount Everest trekking as its finale for 2002 extremes.
In Nepal, a trekking trip can be of any length of days.
There are popular mini–treks around the Katmandu
and Pokhara valleys which take 2.3,5,or 7 days and there
are longer treks lasting a week to one and half months.
In addition, the mountaineering, adventure sports and
cultural tours are famous. Nepal offers some of the
most spectacular and beautiful places in the world .The
Mountains are best known in the world to the extent
that Nepal has nearly a monopoly on the world’s
highest peaks; eight of the ten highest mountains, are
located in this country. Nepalese people and villages
are really delightful and the scenery of the places
as well. General friendliness and good sense of humor
of the Nepalese are famous everywhere.
